I was born in London in 1960 and have spent my life surrounded by creative and artistic influences.

In 1966 my family moved to Norfolk, and I still live just a few miles from where I spent my childhood and adolescent years.

I have been designing and creating textiles since my early teens. My main influences are from nature, and I am passionate about using natural fibres and fabrics in my designs. I particularly enjoy bringing together the wide variety of skills and techniques I have developed over years of experimentation and practical application.

During careers in nursing and school administration, whilst also bringing up a large family, my creative efforts took a back seat, but were used in a domestic capacity (home furnishings and children’s clothes). However, in more recent years I have been able to learn new skills and develop a wide variety of techniques to create a highly individual range of textiles.

I have a City and Guilds Diploma in creative textiles and use the techniques I have learned during the course of my studies to further develop my own creative textile work and to inspire those I teach.

As a member of the Norfolk and Suffolk Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, I take an active part in promoting our crafts and keeping our traditional skills alive.
